  Is economic recovery truly underway? Will industrial real estate keep its momentum? Is New Jersey winning the war for jobs? How are retail trends impacting other industry sectors, notably industrial? Those questions and more were on the table at NAIOP New Jersey’s 2012 Commercial Real Estate Forecast and Annual Meeting at the Sheraton Meadowlands.

   The biggest news story in New Jersey for 2011 was the economy. So what do South Jersey businesses think about 2012? According to the NJBIA Business Outlook Survey, businesses believe that the economy is slowly getting better, and they also like the direction state policies toward business are heading.

   It was a new format and a new location for the Rutgers Quarterly Business Outlook last month as a panel of experts took on the topic of Green Energy.
   Ralph LaRossa, President and Chief Operating Officer of PSE&G, reminded a crowd of 300 South Jersey business leaders packed into the Rutgers-Camden Student Center conference hall that the state’s energy master plan calls for 22.5% of the state’s power to come from renewable sources by 2021.

   The Atlantic City Utilities Authority, under the direction of President Rick Dovey, is the winner of this month’s SNJBP Impact Award.
   The Authority is a public agency that provides environmental and waste management services to the people of Atlantic County and southern New Jersey.
   The ACUA operates both Wastewater and Solid Waste Management Systems. The Wastewater facility is located in Atlantic City and the Solid Waste and Recycling facility is located in Egg Harbor Township.
